Coordination Committee meeting for Ashokastami Rath Yatra of Shri Sri Lingaraj Mahaprabhu is being held

Bhubaneswar:28/3/25:Today at 6 pm, the Rath Yatra Coordination Committee meeting is being held at the Special Circuit House conference room under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Shri Chanchal Rana for the smooth conduct of the 2025 Ashokastami Rath Yatra of Shri Sri Lingaraj Mahaprabhu. The meeting was attended by Honorable MLA, Bhubaneswar Ekamra Shri Babu Singh, Honorable Mayor of Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation Mrs. Sulochana Das, Additional District Collector Shri Rudranarayan Mohanty, senior officials, various departmental officers, various line department officers, Detailed discussions were held with the Civil Defense and voluntary organization workers to ensure that the Rath Yatra is celebrated in a peaceful, orderly and joyful manner.

District Collector Shri Rana sought everyone’s cooperation and instructed everyone to perform their duties sincerely during this year’s Rath Yatra. This year, the estimated cost of the Rath Yatra of Shri Sri Lingaraj Mahaprabhu is Rs. 22 lakh. A decision has been taken to purchase the chariot of Mahaprabhu from the Odisha Kata Samvaya Samiti. In the meeting, Honorable MLABabu Singh expressed that Rath Yatra is a major festival among all the programs of Lord Mahaprabhu and advised everyone to maintain brotherhood and not to allow chaos and to cooperate with the district administration and temple administration till the completion of Bahuda Yatra in a joyous manner.

Similarly, Honorable Mayor Smt. Das assured provide all departmental cooperation by performing all the rituals of the Rath Yatra on time, giving a speech on the chariot procession, and promised to provide all departmental cooperation. It was unanimously agreed that no one should be present in front of the devotees for easy darshan of Lord Ratharudham. In addition, various policies for the Rath Yatra on the 5th and the Bahuda Yatra on the 9th were discussed, and the archeological theory was discussed.

Bhubaneswar Metropolitan Corporation, Watco, Roads and Highways Department, TPCODL, Fire Department, Peace and Order and Security Arrangements, District Information and Public Relations Department, ST John’s Ambulance, Mo Bus Service, The Odisha State Disaster Management Authority services and various essential services were discussed. Finally, the District Magistrate expressed his gratitude to everyone and requested them to take care to ensure that the Rath Yatra was conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner.
