OUTR Hosts Workshop on PM Surya Ghar and Energy Literacy

Bhubaneswar:15/2/25:Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR), in collaboration with the Government of Odisha, successfully hosted a one-day workshop on “Standards & Labeling with PM Surya Ghar and Energy Literacy-2025” on 15th February 2025. The initiative aimed to promote solar energy adoption by providing financial incentives for rooftop solar installations, enabling users to generate cost-free electricity. In his address, Chief Guest Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, Vice Chancellor of OUTR, underscored the importance of renewable energy utilization and encouraged youth engagement in sustainable energy awareness.

Shri Pyari Mohan Mishra, EIC (Electricity) and Principal Chief Electrical Inspector, who was the Guest of Honor, highlighted the necessity of grassroots-level energy efficiency by spreading awareness through the students and carbon emission reduction. The workshop featured insights from esteemed experts, including Prof. A.K. Barisal, Prof. Loknath Tripathy, Prof. Sribatsa Behera, and Dr. U.K. Rout, who shared their expertise on energy literacy and sustainable practices. The event concluded with technical sessions and panel discussions on the benefits of solar energy, electricity conservation, and best practices, reinforcing OUTR’s commitment to fostering a sustainable and energy-efficient future.
