Jajpur:25/11/24:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday issued directives for the timely completion of the development and beautification work of Maa Biraja Temple in Jajpur.
The CM also stated that if needed new projects will be launched for the overall development of the shrine.
“The Chief Minister has directed to complete all the projects that have been taken up for the development of Biraja Temple and its surroundings on time,” read a communiqué from the CMO.
“The state government is fully committed to the development and beautification of this ancient and famous Shakti Peetha. The projects sanctioned for this are ongoing. Along with this, new projects will also be implemented if necessary for the overall development of the temple,” it read.
The Biraja Kshetra of Jajpur is an important Shakti Peetha not only of Odisha but of the entire country. It is a major pilgrimage site in Odisha. The Mahabharata, Adi Shankaracharya’s Shakti Peetha Stava, and the Vamana Purana also mention Maa Biraja. Biraja Peetha is famous as Navi Gaya. The people of Odisha have a deep faith and devotion towards Maa Biraja.
