First meeting of the State Level Steering Committee for preparation of vision document ‘#ViksitOdisha2036 was held at Lok Seva Bhawan

Bhubaneswar:23/9/24: The first meeting of the State-level Steering Committee for the preparation of the vision document ViksitOdisha@2036 for ViksitBharat@ 2047 took place on Saturday at Lok Seva Bhavan.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, who also chairs the Steering Committee, led the meeting, which reviewed the progress from the initial round of meetings held by six Sectoral Groups of Secretaries.

The discussions focused on preliminary presentations made by the Sectoral Groups working on key thematic areas, including Economy, Industries, and Infrastructure; Social & Human Development; Culture & Heritage; Technology and Innovation; Good Governance; and Rural Transformation

In his address, Chief Secretary Ahuja emphasized that the preparation of the vision document is a unique and significant opportunity for the State.

He urged all groups to work collaboratively, stressing the need for a realistic and well-structured approach to drafting the document.

Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, provided a briefing on the progress made by the Sectoral Groups.

Garg emphasized that the vision document must focus on achieving regional balance and promoting both social and economic development across the State. She also highlighted the importance of following international best practices in various sectors to create an aspirational roadmap for a developed Odisha by 2036, aligning with India’s vision for 2047.

Other key participants included Additional Chief Secretary for Home, Forest, Environment, and Climate Change, Satyabrata Sahoo, Additional Chief Secretary for Steel and Mines, Surendra Kumar, and several Principal Secretaries and Commissioner-cum-Secretaries representing the Sectoral Groups.

The meeting also underscored the need to gather inputs from a wide range of stakeholders, including citizens, civil society organizations, policymakers, academics, public intellectuals, business leaders, and think tanks, to ensure a comprehensive vision document.

Plans to launch a web portal for public suggestions and feedback through digital platforms were also discussed.
