Scientific survey of the Ratna Bhandar of the 12th-century Jagannath Temple completed

Puri:22/9/24: The three-day scientific survey of the Ratna Bhandar of the 12th-century Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri district was completed today. The survey was scheduled for three days, but it ended on the second day on Sunday.

On the second day, the floor and walls of the inner and outer rooms of the Ratna Bhandar of the temple were inspected. The study was carried out using GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) technology. The survey report is expected to come in the next 10 days. After the report comes, steps will be taken as per the requirements of the Ratna Bhandar, Shrimandir chief administrator Arvind Padhee told the media on Sunday.

Justice Biswanath Rath, Chairman of Srimandir Ratna Bhandar Committee, said, the Archeological Survey of India’s report is awaited. Necessary action will be taken after receiving the report.

A scientific survey of the Ratna Bhandar of the temple was conducted under the leadership of Anand Kishore Pandey, Senior Principal Scientist, National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI).

The survey, which began on Saturday, would have been completed on Monday. But before this, the survey work was completed on Sunday. NGRI has used best-of-breed techniques during the survey.
