Odisha CM held a review meeting to assess the damage caused by heavy rainfall due to low pressure

Bhubaneswar:10/9/24: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a review meeting to assess the damage caused by heavy rainfall due to low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and SRC-cum Additional Chief Secretary Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh briefed the Chief Minister on the current situation and measures taken.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over waterlogging in many areas, particularly in Koraput and Malkangiri districts, where people have been severely affected. He noted that traffic disruptions and waterlogging have worsened the situation.

To address the crisis, the Chief Minister directed the department to urgently resolve the issues with the help of ODRAF, NDRF, and fire brigade.

He also directed to stockpile relief materials in large quantities and distribute them to affected people promptly.
