BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha by-election as an independent candidate

Bhubaneswar: 21/8/24:BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan today filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha by-election as an independent candidate, hours after Mamata Mohanta, the party’s nominee, submitted her nomination.

Accompanied by 10 supporters, Pradhan presented his papers to the returning officer. Among the supporters were Chhendipada BJP MLA Agasti Behera and nine other party legislators, all of whom were present during the nomination process.

Earlier, Mamata Mohanta, the official BJP candidate, filed her nomination in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, Odisha in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar, and other senior leaders.

Mamata Mohanta, who recently defected from BJD to join BJP, has been declared the party’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election.
