Govt Raids Mines In Odisha’s Dharmasala Over Allegations Of Irregularities

Jajpur: 18/7/24:A team of officials on Thursday carried out extensive raids on mines and stone quarries located in Dharmasala block of Jajpur district over allegations of irregularities and excessive mining.

The raids were conducted based on allegations by Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sahoo that there have been massive irregularities in mining operations during the BJD regime.

Sahoo had written to Director of Minor Minerals, Collector, and Revenue department for a detailed investigation in this matter.

Joint Director, Mines Department, N N Singhdeo said, “We have come here for an inspection based on a written complaint filed by the MLA. The Directorate of Minor Minerals has constituted a team and after examining facts, we will recommend for further inquiry.”
