Odisha Chief Minister reviewed the Housing and Urban Development Department’s plans

Bhubaneswar: 16/7/24: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Tuesday reviewed the Housing and Urban Development Department’s plans at Lok Seva Bhawan and directed to speed up the plans for the development of modern facilities for urban residents.

The CM emphasized prioritizing qualified Odisha residents in beneficiary selection for various schemes and employment opportunities.

CM Majhi highlighted the importance of developing peripheral urban areas to improve infrastructure and facilities for the poor people in the urban areas. So that they can get facilities and provide service to the city while earning a livelihood for themselves.

The meeting also addressed the Daya West Canal issue in Bhubaneswar, with the CM calling for an advanced restoration and beautification plan for the 34 km canal, 16 km of which lies within the city. He stressed the urgent need for Capital Bhubaneswar’s development and its surrounding areas.

Focusing on cleanliness, the CM advocated for implementing a bio-mining system in all state cities and directed efforts to make Bhubaneswar a model city in cleanliness.

The department presented a 100-day action plan, discussing progress on the metro rail project, Jaga mission, CRUT transport system, cleanliness and city beautification.

The meeting was attended by Departmental Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Chief Administrative Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Administrative Secretary to CM Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Departmental Principal Secretary Usha Padhi, Managing Director of CRUT Arun Bothra, and other senior officials.
