Odisha Chief Minister took several decisions for the welfare and development of farmers

Bhubaneswar: 6/7/214:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi who earned the sobriquet of ‘People’s Chief Minister’ on Saturday took several decisions for the welfare and development of farmers following discussions with several farmer organizations.

According to an official press release issued by the CMO, the Chief Minister along with Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee visited Krushi Bhavan today.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary Dr Padhee explained about the special construction style of Krushi Bhavan and its various facilities for the farmers.

At the meeting office-bearers of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Gram Vikash Parishad, and other farmers’ organizations gave their valuable opinions.

Following his discussions with the farmers’ organizations, the CM said that all eligible beneficiaries who have not been included under the PM Kisan Yojana shall be included. The government is developing the necessary system and rules for it, he added.

Similarly, on the establishment of cold stores, the CM said that the first steps will be taken for the establishment of cold stores in 58 subdivisions.

With one cold store in every subdivision farmers of all areas can be benefited, the CM added.

The CM further said that the State Government is preparing ‘Samruddha Krushak Niti’. Under this farmers shall be provided with support and assistance from the start of cultivation till the sale of the crop.

The farmers’ organisations thanked the CM and his government for deciding to make the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy to Rs 3100 on the very first day of government formation.
