Celebrating Adani Day : Mass Plantation drive by Dhamra Port

Dhamra, 24.06.2024: On the occasion of Adani Day, Dhamra Port has taken a significant step towards enhancing ecological biodiversity by planting more than 10,000 saplings within its premises. The event saw an enthusiastic participation of over 700 individuals, including employees, workmen, and other stakeholders, all joining hands to commemorate the birthday of Shri Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group.

The plantation drive focused on casuarinas equisetifolia, a species known for its ecological benefits, aiming to enrich the flora and fauna of the port area. This initiative is part of a larger commitment, with a target of planting 300,000 saplings during the current fiscal year. Devendra Thakar, Adani Dhamra Port’s Chief Executive Officer, and Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Chief Operating Officer were present.

Dhamra Port’s plantation efforts extend beyond its premises, fostering collaborations with peripheral panchayats, rail corridor villages, schools, colleges, and various societies to promote greenery across the Bhadrak district. This comprehensive approach underscores the port’s dedication to environmental sustainability and community engagement.

The celebration of Adani Day not only marks the birthday of a visionary leader but also reflects the Adani Group’s ongoing commitment to ecological conservation and sustainable development.
