Holy Trinity Take Holy Bath on Deba Snana Purnima

Puri:22/6/824: Deba Snana Purnima, one of the most important festivals of Lord Jagannath, is being celebrated in the pilgrim city of Puri with great pomp and devotional fervor.

The divine siblings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra have been taken to the Snana Bedi from the Ratna Singhasana in a grand procession by the servitors. The deities were ceremonially bathed with 108 pitchers of sacred water. While the servitors poured 35 pots of water on Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra had shower with 33 pots of water, Devi Subhadra with 22 pots of water and Lord Sudarshan took bath with 18 pots of water.

This event is a major part of the Snana Yatra festival, marking the prelude to the grand Rath Yatra in Puri.

Lakhs of devotees visited the pilgrim city to have darshan of the deities on this auspicious occasion. Elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the Snan Purnima festival.
