Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Pravati Parida conducted a comprehensive review of various schemes and activities

Bhubaneswar: 17/6/24:The Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Pravati Parida conducted a comprehensive review of various schemes and activities under the Department of Mission Shakti on Monday.

During the review, Smt. Parida emphasised the crucial role of Mission Shakti in realising the dream of a developed Odisha. She acknowledged the progress made by Mission Shakti in empowering women across the state and highlighted its potential in the socio-economic landscape of a Developed Odisha.

The Dy CM discussed the department’s various ongoing schemes and activities, underscoring their importance in fostering women’s empowerment, enhancing livelihoods, and promoting entrepreneurship among women. She also deliberated on the preparation of a 100-day work plan aimed at accelerating the implementation of key initiatives and achieving tangible outcomes within a short span.

During this meeting, apart from assessing the progress and impact of existing schemes under Mission Shakti, including financial inclusion, capacity building, and market linkage initiatives, Dy CM Parida focused on the formulation of strategies to enhance the reach and effectiveness of Mission Shakti programs, ensuring that more women benefit from these initiatives. Strengthening community participation and involvement in Mission Shakti activities to ensure grassroots-level impact and sustainability was also discussed.

Deputy Chief Minister Parida reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering women through Mission Shakti and called for concerted efforts from all officials to reach every corner of the state with Mission Shakti and achieve the vision of a Vikasit Odisha.

Smt. Shalini Pandit, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Vineet Bhardwaj, IAS, State Mission Director cum CEO, Odisha Livelihoods Mission (OLM), Senior Government officials and other staff of the department were present during this meeting.
