Raja festival will witness four big releases this time with top stars of the O-town

Bhubaneswar:18/6/23:Encashing in on the three-day Raja festival beginning June 14 and the summer vacations, Odia movie producers have lined up four releases to keep the cash registers ringing. This is a norm every year and invariably, the effort hits the bull’s eye.

Fans of Odia films finally have a reason to rejoice in this Raja! With theatres welcoming back audiences after close to two years of dry spell due to the pandemic, Along with a few other films in the pipeline the festival of Raja will witness four big releases this time with top stars of the O-town. The four films are Pabar, Kuhudi, Tike Tike Achinha Tu and Chandrabanshi. Here are some interesting insights about these four films. Have a look

Odia film “Tike Tike Achinha Tu” was released on 7 June across the state. This film is being directed by Tapas Sargharia featuring his hit pair Swaraj Barik and Bhoomika. His previous films with the same pair are ‘Tu Mo Love Story’ and ‘Tu Mo Love Story 2’, which were music hits of their time. “Tike Tike Achinha Tu’ was the title of one of the songs in the first film. Along with Swaraj and Bhoomika, who were child actors before and now are main leads in films, another child actor turned young actor Subham Nayak is debuting with this film. The story, screenplay and dialogues by Bharadwaj Panda, produced by Navin Bhandari and Deepak Mishra, the music of the film has been composed by Prem Anand.

‘Chandrabanshi’ which is going to hit the theater on 14 June 2024 produced Under the banner of Anasmish Productions, this is going to be the 4th cinema produced by young and emerging O-town producer Pritam Kumar Sahu, directed by newcomer director duo Yash Varman Panda and Sunil Sahoo. Music by trendy music composer Asad Nizam.

The story of the film is based on a renowned family ‘Chandrabansh’ on the theme of Mahabharat conflicts with a modern touch. Like the Mahabharat, this film also has a Kaourav- Pandav conflict and a Shakuni Mama too.

Having a multistarrer cast along with Hollywood’s megastar Siddhant Mohapatra, the film also has prominent actors from the O-town like Sritam Das, Akash Dasnayak, Usasi Mishra, Samaresh Routray, Raj Rajesh, Poonam Mishra, Jasmine rath, Lipsa Mishra, Pratibha Panda, Sakti Baral, and Ashwini Tripathy. Popular director Tapas Sargharia will be seen playing a hardcore negative character in the film. The fierce look of the director turned actor in the promos of the film is getting rave reviews from the audience. The popular faces from the Odia Jatra industry  Daitari Panda and Piyush Tripathy will be seen playing powerful characters in the film.

With the upcoming film ‘Pabar’, going to be released on June 12, Ollywood superstar Babushan Mohanty is ready to explode again after the success of his recent hits like ‘Daman’ and ‘Malyagiri’.   The successful duo of Babushan along with the popular director Ashok Pati is coming back together after years with this film. Also after 8 years of the film ‘Love Station’, Babushan has been paired with Elina Samantaray in the film. The star cast also includes actors like Krishna Kar, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Rabi Mishra, Bapi, Bhakti, and many more. Keeping the festival of Raja in mind, the makers hope that the film will double the fun of the people.

Based on a true incident the story of the film talks about the ‘power’ of common people and election awareness. In this movie, we can see how a simple village boy has power and how he can change everyone’s power if he wants.

Inspired by true events, the upcoming Odia film ‘Kuhudi’ starring superstar Anubhav Mohanty in the lead role is all set to hit the theatres during Raja on June 14. Under the banner ‘Camera Queen Productions’, produced by  Himadri Tanaya Das, the film has been directed by Ajay Padhi, who has recently worked with Anubhav for the film ‘Bigul’. Along with Anubhav the film also has talented actors like Supriya, Prakruti Mishra, Dipanwit Dasmohapatra, Kuna Tripathy, Sakti Baral, Susil Mishra, and Sukumar Tudu. While the songs of the film have been composed by Somesh Satpathy, the screenplay, and dialogues of the film have been written by Manas Padhiari, Amit Kumar Das, and Anil Barik. The film talks about Parental alienation, revolving around a character named Sagar Mishra played by Dipanwit. Anubhav is playing the advocate of the accused Sagar
