Odisha CM paid his last respects to veteran BJD leader and former minister Damodar Rout

Bhubaneswar:22/3/2 4; Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid his last respects to veteran BJD leader and former minister Damodar Rout, who passed away while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Bhubaneswar.

The Chief Minister visited Sankha Bhawan, the party office of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), and paid his last respects to the departed leader.

5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian, and several BJD leaders also paid their homage to Damodar Rout at Sankha Bhawan.

Earlier, the mortal remains of the former minister were taken to the Odisha Assembly premises. A guard of honour was given to him on the Assembly premises.

The Chief Minister said that he was saddened to learn about the demise of Damodar Rout. This is an irreparable loss in Odisha politics, the CM said.

Damodar Rout’s work for the service and betterment of the people will always be remembered, the CM added.
