5T Chairman attended NuaO Scholarship Distribution Programme & interacted with students from 57 colleges of the three districts

Bhubaneswar:26/2/24 Per the direction of CM Naveen Patnaik, Chairman 5T & NabinOdisha Kartik Pandian visited Sambalpur, Angul & Deogarh districts. The 5T Chairman attended NuaO Scholarship Distribution Programme & interacted with students from 57 colleges of the three districts. He informed the students about #NuaOScholarship under which eligible PG & UG students from State Govt Universities, Govt Colleges, non-Govt aided and unaided Colleges will be benefitted.
Shri Pandian informed that 13,423 students from 21 colleges of Sambalpur district, 11,265 students from 25 colleges of Angul district & 3,424 students from 11 colleges of Deogarh district will get their scholarship amount in their bank accounts. With this, ₹28.00 Cr was sanctioned for 28,112 students from these three districts. He distributed Nua-O Scholarship Sanction Orders to the students. During the programme, Shri Pandian conveyed the message of CM, who wished the students all the best for their future & said that this initiative would help to achieve the dream of NuaOdisha

During the interaction, Shri Pandian said the decade of 2024-34 will be the era of youths, who will be empowered by State Govt to achieve the goal of NuaOdisha. He added like the empowerment initiatives for women through Mission Shakti Odisha, in the next 10 years major interventions for youth engagement, empowerment & development will be implemented. He said in this context, NuaO programme was launched last year & has been a major success, and as a next step Nua-O Scholarship Programme has been launched

The scholarship amount for General and OBC male and female students is ₹9,000 & ₹10,000 respectively whereas for SC/ST and Nirman Shramik male and female students, it is ₹10,000 & ₹11,000 respectively. Shri Pandian said Govt’s next major initiative will be to cover all the students through the launching of the futuristic NabinOdisha Magic Card, a points-system-based smart card which will engage & empower youths and enable them towards academic development, personality development, skill development & employment. He added it will create a platform for youths to aspire and achieve their dreams.
The 5T Chairman said Govt will take further inputs from students & teachers on the various activities which can be included in this points system. He added the card will be completely technology driven & will be a revolutionary concept towards youth engagement and empowerment. Online registration portal for this card will be launched on March 5, 2024 and distribution of the card will be on August 15.
