Odisha Mining Corporation has signed an MoU with Hindalco Industries for providing long-term raw materia

Bhubaneswar:22/12/23: Odisha Mining Corporation has signed an MoU with Hindalco Industries for providing long-term raw material linkage for its project at Kansariguda in Rayagada district in the presence of CM Naveen Patnaik. The agreement will facilitate and speed up the work for a 2-million-tonne alumina refinery in Rayagada.

CM called it a significant milestone in the journey of Odisha’s industrial growth and development. CM said that the MoU exemplifies the unwavering dedication to make Odisha a magnet for industrial investments. CM outlined that the Alumina Refinery of Aditya Aluminum Ltd at Kansariguda is a green field project coming up with an investment of ₹8000 Cr.

The project will create 1000 direct jobs and 4000 indirect employment opportunities. Calling it the transformative power of industry, CM thanked the Aditya Birla Group for believing in the potential of Odisha and partnering with State Govt in this journey. CM further said that Odisha is poised to become an Industrial Hub of the East, and this is not just State’s ambition but its mission.

CM invited everyone to be a part of this exciting journey. CM urged everyone to co-create a future where business and socio-economic growth go hand in hand, making Odisha a shining example for the world. CM appealed the people of Rayagada to provide all support to the refinery project, so that work can start soon and make visible changes in the life of local people.

Joining the MoU signing ceremony, the Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, Shri Kumar Mangalam Birla said that Odisha is witnessing rapid industrialisation under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik. Through several decades of development, Odisha has made remarkable progress in several fields, he added.
