IITTM organizes International Seminar on “Cultural Heritage Tourism: Celebrating the Divine Feminine” in association with INTACH, Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar:13/10/23:The International Seminar on “Cultural Heritage Tourism: Celebrating the Divine Feminine” was successfully conducted on 12th October 2023 by Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management in association with INTACH, Bhubaneswar.

The seminar was enriched by significant contributions from eminent academicians, research scholars, consultants, students, etc. from within the country and abroad. This seminar focused to promote an understanding and appreciation of Cultural and Heritage tourism centered around the Divine Feminine in various cultures, religions, and regions.

Prof. Triloki Pandey, Professor Emeritus, Anthropology, Department of Cultural Anthropology, University of California, Santa Cruz, USA graced the occasion as Chief Guest and gave the Key Note Address on the theme, highlighting the ancient as well as contemporary trends of Goddess worship.

Prof. Annapurna Pandey, Cultural Anthropologist, University of California, Santa Cruz, USA, Ms. Ileana Citaristi, Eminent Odissi and Chhau Dance, Bhubaneswar and Shri Anil Dhir, Convenor, Intach, Bhubaneswar gave insightful addresses focusing on rethinking the concept of heritage and cultural tourism initiatives built around the theme of Divine Feminine Goddess. Dr. Md. Sabir Hussain, Nodal Officer IITTM gave the welcome address while Dr. Adyasha Das, Secretary, International Seminar presented the theme paper. The vote of thanks was extended by Dr. B. Swajan.

Participants presented innovative papers in three different tracks. Prof. Swarup Sahu presided over the valedictory programme as the Chief Guest and Shri Biswajit Mohanty as Guest of Honour. Dr. Adyasha Das, Seminar Secretary summarized the seminar proceedings and presented it. Academicians from more than five countries participated in this international seminar.
