Election for the Odisha Assembly Speaker will be held on 22nd September 2023

Bhubaneswar1 6/9/23:The election for the Odisha Assembly Speaker will be held on 22nd September 2023 instead of 21st September.

The decision to shift the date was taken in view of Nuakhai being celebrated on that day in the state. Earlier, it was scheduled to be held on 21st September.

The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Assembly will also start from 22nd September. The opposition parties had opposed the election on 21st September.

While the nominations will be filed on 21st September, the election will be held at 9 am on 22nd September.
