Bhubaneswar:30/8/23: Attending the NijuktiParba programme, CM Naveen Patnaik said one of the key challenges for higher education is to make children employable or self-employed. There is a need for students to come out of institutions confident to do something meaningful to their own lives and ultimately, to society, the CM said.
Highlighting the role of teachers & professors as very significant, CM said apart from quality teaching, they should instil confidence, inspire students with positivity & create a sense of purpose in their lives. Only a teacher can do this effectively, CM said and added that he has strong faith in all the teachers, and professors & expressed confidence that they can successfully transform students into real assets of the nation.

As many as 262 Assistant Professors & 88 Junior Executive Assistants joined the State Govt. Congratulating the Assistant Professors, CM said Higher Education is a major platform for students to enter the world of professional careers. CM added, students take divergent career options from here and contribute to society in various capacities.
CM said that Higher Education is a key sector on which the State Govt is focussing and since 2016-17, Odisha has recruited more than 4,000 teachers in Government colleges. The State is providing scholarships, laptops, and virtual library facilities, ‘green passage’ for orphan students & initiating ‘Mo College’ campaign for greater involvement of alumni in improving the education ecosystem. Informing that Govt is increasingly spending more on research, CM said that the State will spend over ₹216 Cr in the next 5 years under Chief Minister Research & Innovation Students’ Scholarship Scheme.

CM said the post of Junior Executive Assistant in the State Secretariat carries special significance. Junior Executive Assistants are here to serve people and their sincerity & commitment will be invaluable to Govt’s endeavour of the transformation of Odisha, the CM said and added that he expects them to deliver the very best in the service of the state. Speaking about the 5T initiative that Odisha has embarked on, CM expected all to follow this governance model & contribute to the State’s transformation.
CM asked all departments to make concerted efforts for regular recruitment to fill up vacancies. CM also released guidelines of Mukhya Mantri Research & Innovation Fellowship Programme (MRIP) and Mukhya Mantri Research Fellowship Test.
