Tata Steel Meramandali celebrates Van Mahotsav Week

Tree plantation programme held in Malibido village

Narendrapur, July 4, 2023: Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM) and Odapada Journalists Association jointly celebrated Van Mahotsav Week at Malibido village under Odapada block today. On this occasion, a tree plantation programme was held at the temple premises in the village. As many as 130 saplings of different species were planted in the programme.

The main aim of the programme was to increase public awareness about the need for trees and create enthusiasm among the people to plant more and more trees. More than 50 villagers from The Print and Electronic Media of Odapada Sambadik Sangha and villagers jointly planted trees at the event. Officials from TSM’s Corporate Communications department joined in this event. The saplings planted in Malibido village were supplied from TSM’s in house nursery.

Van Mahotsav is celebrated every year in the first week of July. The main objective of this festival is to make people aware of the ecological balance by planting trees, involving them in the programme.
