Newdelhi:27/5/23: India’s new Parliament building is scheduled to be inaugurated on Sunday i.e. 28 May. Over the inauguration, the opposition parties have raised objections saying that the President and not the Prime Minister should inaugurate the new Parliament building. As many as 20 Opposition parties, including Congress, the Trinamool Congress, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), have issued a boycott call.

The government has also received a confirmed list of 25 political parties, including some which are not a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), that will participate in the inauguration ceremony.Tamil Nadu has been centre of Indian nationalism in every era: PM Narendra Modi said while meeting Adheenams on eve of parliament building inauguration.

Tamil Adheenams who travelled to national capital Delhi ahead of the new Parliament Building inauguration on Sunday, handed over the ‘Sengol’-historic sceptre to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday evening.

The ‘Sengol’ will be installed in the Lok Sabha on Sunday after the inauguration of the new parliament building.
