Odisha CM has approved the master plan for the overall development of three major Shaktipeeths of the state

Bhubaneswar:20/3/23″On the occasion of holy Chaitra month, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik has approved the master plan for the overall development of three major Shaktipeeths of the state, Maa Manglsa of Kakatpur, Maa Ugratara of Bhusundpur and Maa Bhgabati Pitha of Banpur. It has been included in the Integrated Development Plan of Tourism. Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation has been entrusted with the responsibility of development.

The development plans will be implemented under the 5T initiatives of the State Government, according to official release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office.

Maa Mangala Temple, situated in Kakatpur in Puri district, is a symbol of faith and belief of lakhs of devotees. As per the master plan, the floor area of the temple premises will be covered with khondalite stones. The kitchen and water drainage system will be renovated. A Sevayat Bhavan for the stay of the servitors, kiosks for tonsuring of the devotees and toilet facilities will be constructed. Besides, landscaping, plantation and lighting facilities will be done for the beatification of the temple. The Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation Limited (OBCC) has been asked to complete all the works within 12 months.

Every day, thousands of devotees visit to the shrine of Maa Bhabhati in Banapur of Khordha district for darshan and puja. A master plan has been prepared under the 5T initiative for the development of the this temple built in the ninth century. The master plan includes facilities for the devotees for ‘parikrama’ of the temple, multipurpose hall, development of roads and river banks. The development works are expected to be completed in 24 months.

Maa Ugratara temple is another famous Shakti Peetha in Khordha district. Built in 1352 AD, the shrine of Maa Ugratara remains the center of faith for devotees. The master plan proposes construction of arrival plaza, parking and facilities for the devotees, landscaping, development of picnic spot and renovation of the sacred pond. The OBCC has been asked to complete the works within 18 months.

While approving the master plans, the Chief Minister has urged the officials to complete the works in time.
The Chief Minister also discussed with the sevayats of these Shakti Peethas to take their suggestions about the master plans.

Notably, on the instruction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian visited these Shakti Peethas and discussed about the development plans with the sevayats and locals.
