Odisha government has launched a scheme to provide free coaching to 200 aspirants of UPSC civil services examinations

Bhubaneswar:23/2/23::The Odisha government has launched a scheme to provide free coaching to 200 aspirants of UPSC civil services examinations in the capital city here.

The state government will also provide free boarding and food to the 200 UPSC aspirants, said a notification issued by the Higher Education department today.

“There will be a pre-qualifying entrance examination for selecting 200 UPSC aspirants. The entrance examination is likely to be held on March 26,” added the notification.

As per the notification, the state government will provide free coaching for general studies papers of UPSC civil.

“The government will provide free coaching for the general studies papers only. The duration of the coaching will be of one year. However, the aspirants selected in UPSC preliminary examinations may avail the free coaching for another one year,” said the notification.

The state government has asked UPSC aspirants to apply for the free coaching scheme by visiting the SAMS portal of the Higher Education department.

The last date for the submission of online applications for the free UPSC coaching scheme for 2023-24 session is March 4. The candidates should deposit Rs 100 as application fee through online mode, said an official of the Higher Education department.

The candidates can find the detailed guideline for the scheme by visiting Higher Education Department website—www.dhe.odisha.gov.in, he added.

Notably, the IAS coaching centres in various government-run universities in Odisha were wound up in 2017-18 academic year as they failed to fulfill the desired objectives.
