New Cashew Cultivation Program to Be Taken up on 20, 000 Hectares of Land

Bhubaneswar30/1/23:: A new cashew cultivation program is to be taken up on 20,000 hectares of land in Odisha this year, said Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment here on Monday.

The Secretary said this while speaking at the National Conference on Cashew “Encashing Technological Innovations for Production & Productivity of Cashew”.

The objective of the conference is to formulate a plan for the advancement of the cashew industry, through expert discussions regarding the production of better quality cashew saplings, integrated pest management, post-harvest management, pricing, processing, packaging and marketing.

Emphasizing on potential of Cashew while utilizing technology, Odisha State Cashew Development Corporation OSCDC in collaboration with Directorate of Cashewnut & Cocoa Development (DCCD), Cochin is organizing the National Conference at Lokaseva Bhawan on Jan 30, 31.
