Three Maoists Surrender Before Odisha Police

Malkangiri:26/1/23: A huge success for Odisha Police on Republic Day as three Maoists including one woman surrendered on the auspicious occasion. The surrendered Maoists were — Mati Madhi alias Manoj, Pandu Kabasi, Aite Karttami. They are from Daldali village under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri district.

They were the active members of Mahupadar LOS Kangerghati AC under Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) CPI Maoist Party. All were carrying cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each, announced by the state government, police said today.They gave in to the police in presence of senior officials including Intelligence Director Sanjeev Panda.

The surrendered Maoists will be properly rehabilitated and receive monetary assistance as per the surrender and rehabilitation scheme of Government of Odisha, the Malkangiri Police stated in a release today.They will also get financial assistance for building house, pursuing studies and getting training in a trade/vocation of their will, the release stated.

Recently, the Malkangiri Police seized a huge cache of arms and ammunitions, IEDs, and materials used for making explosives, Maoist uniform and other incriminating articles and ammunition during search at Tulsi Pahad area between Kirimiti and Katuapadar villages under Mathili police limits.

Two days after seizure, three Maoists surrendered before the Malkangiri Police to join the mainstream. Mati Madhi of Daldali village under Mathili PS was carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh. He had joined the banned CPI Maoist party in the year 2017. Currently, he was working as the party member of Mahupadar LOS Kangerghati AC under DKSZC

.Similarly, Pandu Kabasi from the same Daldali village had joined the Maoist organisation in 2017. Prior to his joining in the Maoist group, he was working as militia commander.The 21-year-old woman Maoist Aite Karttami was in the Maoist organisation since 2022. She was working as the militia before joining the red rebel group.
