‘RRR’, KASHMIR FILES, GANGUBAI KATHIAWADI, KANTARA ELIGIBLE FOR OSCARS 2023 NOMINATIONS

 Mumbai:1q1/1q/23:The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released a list of 301 feature films eligible for the 2023 Oscar nominations.

Six Indian feature films – the much-favored ‘RRR’, India’s official entry ‘The Last Film Show’ (‘Chhello Show’), the sleeper hit ‘Kantara’, ‘The Kashmir Files’, ‘Gangubai Kathiyawadi’ and ‘Me Vasantrao’, the Marathi-language biopic on classical singer Vasantrao Deshpande — are on the list of 301 movies that are eligible for the 95th Oscars.

Apart from them, the list also features Indian films ‘Tuzhya Sathi Kahihi’, R Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, ‘Iravin Nizhal’ and Kannada movie ‘Vikrant Rona’.
According to Variety, an American Media company, the 9,579 eligible voting members will begin filling out their ballots on January 12 and ballots will close on January 17, 2023.
The official Oscar nominations will be announced on January 24, 2023, with the ceremony on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood
