State level “World Veterinary Day-2025” was observed at Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Hall

Bhubaneswar: 26/4/25:The State level “World Veterinary Day-2025” was observed at Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Hall today. Inaugurating the programme, Suresh Kumar Vashishtha, Principal Secretary, F&ARD, called for collective efforts towards animal health care.

He said “One Planet, One Health” is the need of the hour. He also highlighted the role of veterinary doctors in protecting the environment as well as animal health.

Vijay Amruta Kulange, Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services highlighted various government schemes. More than 300 farmers across the state participated in the programme.

On this occasion, a Workshop on Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana (MKY) & Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) was organized, where Dr. Bismita Nandi & Dr Satyaprakash Mohapatra participated as Rapporteurs & Dr Rajeev Sharma as Moderator. Dr. Antaryami Khuntia, DD, DAH&VS, Mr. Swapnananda Mohapatra, FDO, DAH&VS, Dr. Biswaranjan Tripathy, Deputy Manager, OMFED, Dr. Hadibandhu Bhoi, CEO, OLRDS, Dr. Mihir Kumar Nayak, AD, OBPI were present on the session.

A technical seminar on “Livestock Farmers, Civil Society and Veterinarians: A Team Approach in Animal Health” was organized where Dr. Prakash Biswas & Dr. Amiya Lal Patra participated as Rapporteurs & Dr Samapika Mohapatra as Moderator. Dr. Rabindra Mohan Maharatha, Ex-Joint Director, AH&VS, Dr. Sanat Mishra, Professor, OUAT, Dr. Kumaresh Behera, Asst Professor, CVSc&AH, OUAT, Dr. Biswanath Sahoo, Principal Scientist, CIWA, Sri Subrat Prusty, President, Odisha Kennel Club participated on the seminar. Closing Remarks was addressed by Bijay Amruta Kulange, Director, AH&VS while Vote of Thanks by Dr Deepti Mohapatra, AD (Extension).
