Bhubaneswar:19/4/25:Odisha is strengthening its industrial ties with Spain as Ambassador Juan Antonio March Pujol met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan today.
The discussions explored avenues of collaboration in renewable energy, metallurgy, textiles, and automobiles, setting the stage for a high-value partnership.Odisha, known for its mineral wealth and thriving steel clusters, welcomed recent investments such as TIMAB Magnesium India Pvt. Ltd. The French-Spanish company is investing ₹90 crore in a refractory manufacturing unit in Khordha, creating over 300 jobs. The CM emphasized further opportunities in sustainable metallurgy technologies.
Odisha’s Renewable Energy Policy took the spotlight as the CM invited Spanish firms like Siemens Gamesa, Acciona, and Iberdrola to explore investment prospects. The focus was on floating solar parks, offshore wind farms, and green hydrogen projects, underlining Odisha’s commitment to clean energy.
CM Majhi extended an invitation to leading Spanish apparel brands such as ZARA, Desigual, and Mango to consider Odisha’s integrated textile parks for sourcing and innovation. The state’s skilled workforce and progressive policy framework were highlighted as major advantages.
Ambassador Pujol appreciated Odisha’s dynamic industrial ecosystem, expressing Spain’s keen interest in fostering long-term, technology-driven partnerships. Odisha’s push towards global collaborations reflects its emergence as a future-ready investment destination.
With senior officials such as Additional Chief Secretaries Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Satyabrata Sahoo, and Hemant Kumar Sharma present, the meeting laid the foundation for a new chapter in industrial, technological, and cultural cooperation between Odisha and Spain.
