Odisha Governor Reviews OUAT’s Role and its contributions to the state’s agricultural sector

Bhubaneswar:16/4/25: Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati visited the academic museum of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, where he conducted a comprehensive review of the university’s operations and its contributions to the state’s agricultural sector.

Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, who was present during the Governor’s visit, joined discussions on advancing agricultural development in Odisha.

The program commenced with OUAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Prabhat Kumar Raul presenting an overview of the university’s achievements in education, research, and extension services. He highlighted OUAT’s collaborations with national and international educational and research institutions, underscoring the university’s role in fostering innovation and knowledge exchange.

Governor Kambhampati emphasized the social responsibility of OUAT’s scientists, urging them to contribute to Odisha’s vision of self-reliance and its role in building a developed India. He specifically called for increased research and initiatives to boost the production of fish, eggs, pulses, and oilseeds, aiming to make Odisha self-sufficient in these critical food sectors.

Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo elaborated on the state government’s efforts to support OUAT’s growth and enhance the welfare of farmers across Odisha. He discussed ongoing initiatives to strengthen agricultural productivity and sustainability, aligning with the state’s broader developmental goals.The Governor expressed his satisfaction with OUAT’s progress in academic and research domains, as well as the notable achievements of its alumni in various fields. He lauded the university’s efforts in driving agricultural innovation and contributing to the state’s socio-economic development.
