Samir Mohanty elected as President of Odisha Olympic Association

Cuttack:12/4/25:The Odisha Olympic Association (OOA) welcomed its newly elected President, Samir Mohanty, as he officially assumed office today at the association’s headquarters in Cuttack.

During his inaugural address, Mohanty, a seasoned political leader and administrator, expressed his commitment to transforming Odisha’s sporting ecosystem.

Upon taking charge, he engaged with officials and staff members, acknowledging their dedication and pledging to work collaboratively to uplift sports in Odisha. He emphasized his vision of fostering excellence by enhancing sports infrastructure, expanding training accessibility, and ensuring robust athlete development programs.

Shri Mohanty outlined his plan to secure government support and cooperation to streamline policies and resources for sports development. He stressed the importance of empowering athletes across disciplines with world-class facilities, expert coaching, and opportunities to compete at national and international levels.

The Odisha Olympic Association is critical in overseeing various sports associations, talent scouting, and facilitating athlete participation in major competitions. Under Shri Mohanty’s leadership, stakeholders are optimistic about progressive policies that will benefit Odisha’s sporting landscape.

As Odisha continues to emerge as a sporting hub, Shri Mohanty’s presidency marks a promising beginning for structured and sustainable growth in the sector. His leadership is expected to further cement Odisha’s reputation as a powerhouse of sports in India
