Odisha Chief Minister paid tribute to Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das by garlanding his statue

Bhubaneswar:1/4/25: On the occasion of Utkal Divas, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi paid tribute to Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das by garlanding his statue in Bhubaneswar.

Addressing the citizens, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and fondly reminisced about the contributions of Madhusudan Das, the ‘Father of Modern Odisha’.

CM Majhi expressed deep admiration for Madhusudan Das’ efforts in uniting Odias from different regions and for initiating the long struggle for a separate province, Utkal Pradesh, through Utkal Sammilani. He emphasized the importance of upholding Odia’s identity and striving together for Odisha’s development.

For the first time, the state government celebrated Utkal Divas in Madhusudan Das’ native village – Satyabhamapur in Cuttack district, highlighting his pivotal role in shaping Odisha’s cultural and political legacy.

The event witnessed the presence of key political figures, including the Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and the Ekamra constituency MLA Babu Singh, who joined in commemorating Odisha’s rich heritage and reaffirming the collective commitment to making Odisha a leading state in the country. As part of the celebration, Odia’s pride and unity were emphasized, fostering a shared vision for the state’s progress.
