East Coast RailwayHonours Five Heroes Of Railway Safety

Bhubaneswar: 25/3/25:East Coast Railway (ECoR) General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal felicitated five railway employees for their outstanding dedication and alertness in ensuring safe train operations. The ceremony, held at ECoR headquarters, Rail Sadan, in Bhubaneswar, was attended by the Additional General Manager, the Principal Chief Safety Officer, and other senior officials, underscoring the importance of the occasion.

The honoured employees, drawn from various divisions of ECoR, were celebrated for their vigilance and prompt actions while on duty. They include Chandrageer Kumar Raut, Senior Assistant Loco Pilot from Khurda Road; Upendra Kumar, Senior Goods Train Manager from Titlagarh; Sri Suresh Gagaray, Track Maintainer-IV from Harichandanpur; Sudhansu Shekhar Das, Track Maintainer-II from Gorakhnath; and Kilo Sonu, Track Maintainer-IV from Manavar (Koraput). Each has played a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of railway operations, often under challenging circumstances.

During the event, General Manager Funkwal praised the awardees for their remarkable contributions, noting that their swift responses and unwavering commitment are the backbone of a reliable railway network. “Their alertness and dedication exemplify the spirit of service that keeps our trains running safely and smoothly,” Funkwal remarked. He highlighted how their efforts directly contribute to passenger safety and the seamless functioning of one of India’s busiest railway zones.

Funkwal also took the opportunity to address the broader railway workforce, urging all employees to emulate the honorees by remaining vigilant and devoted to their duties. “Safety is paramount at every level of railway operations, and it is the collective responsibility of our staff that ensures a secure and efficient system,” he said. The General Manager’s words served as both a commendation and a call to action, reinforcing the critical role railway personnel play in upholding public trust.

The felicitation ceremony not only celebrated individual excellence but also spotlighted the often-unsung efforts of railway workers who keep the wheels of ECoR turning.
