Minister of Panchayati Raj of Odisha Emphasizes Development of Gram Panchayats

Bhubaneswar:5/3/25:In a pivotal review meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan, the Honorable Minister of Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, Rural Development Rabi Narayan Naik, reiterated the government’s commitment to the development of every Gram Panchayat. The minister emphasized that achieving the goal of a developed village and a developed Odisha hinges on building a multi-faceted infrastructure.

During the meeting, detailed reviews were conducted on various schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Bikasita Gaan, Bikasita Odisha, and Mega Pipe Drinking Water Projects. The Minister directed the collection of accurate data in the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme survey to ensure all eligible beneficiaries are identified.

The minister also reviewed the implementation of the ‘Bikasita Gaan, Bikasita Odisha’ Scheme and highlighted the need for multi-faceted infrastructure construction. There were thorough discussions on the preventive maintenance of tube wells to combat heat waves, maintenance, drinking water supply, and the excavation of new tube wells. Guidance was provided on reaching the Antyodaya Gruha Scheme to eligible beneficiaries.

Present at the meeting were Commissioner-Cum-Secretary S. N. Girish, Special Project Director Jyotiprakash Das, Drinking Water Director Vineet Bharadwaj, Additional Chief Secretary Chakraborty Singh Rathore, Panchayati Raj Director Dr. Maheshwar Swain, Chief Engineer, and senior officers of the PR&DW department. Chief Development Officers of all districts and Group Development Officers and Divisional Engineers of all blocks joined the meeting via video conferencing.
