Rajastani male buffalo ‘Bhim’has witnessed a special attraction at state-level Fish and Animal Husbandry Convention

Bhubaneswar: 14/2/25:The state-level Fish and Animal Husbandry Convention, held at the Baramunda playground in Bhubaneswar has witnessed a special attraction, a Rajasthani male buffalo ‘Bhim’.

The majestic animal, which has traveled from Jodhpur to Odisha, has become a center of attraction.

‘Bhim’, a 9-year-old male buffalo of the Murra breed, has garnered significant attention for its impressive size, weighing around 1500 kilograms and standing at 6 feet tall. Its sleek black coat and robust health have made it a sensation among the attendees.

According to its owner, Jawaharlal Jangid, ‘Bhim’ has earned a reputation nationwide for its exceptional health, size, and high-quality sperm. The buffalo’s daily diet is a fascinating aspect, with a food cost of around Rs. 5000. ‘Bhim’ consumes 20 liters of royal jelly, cashew nuts, pistachios, carrots, cabbage, seasonal fruits, dry straw, and green grass. Additionally, it enjoys eating about 1 kg of bilona ghee daily.

To maintain its impressive physique, ‘Bhim’ exercises in an open field every day and swims in a swimming pool twice a day. Its unique lifestyle and diet have contributed to its recognition as a prized buffalo bull across the country.The presence of ‘Bhim’ at the convention has provided fish farmers and livestock keepers with a rare opportunity to learn about this exceptional breed. Notably, Murra buffaloes are known for their high milk production capacity, yielding 20-25 liters per day.
