Deputy Chief Minister Shri Singhdeo reviewed the irrigation projects of Balangir district Directed to complete within the stipulated time

Bhubaneswar: 13/02/2025:Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo reviewed the irrigation projects of Balangir district. He specially reviewed the Upper Lanth Irrigation Project. The foundation stone of this project was laid during the Balangir visit of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi. With the completion of this project, there will be no issue of water for irrigation in Khaprakhol and Belpada area. The farmers’ of that area will be the ultimate beneficiary. Development Commissioner Mrs. Anu Garg also attended this review meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Singhdeo himself reviewed the entire project, such as land acquisition, construction of dams, and construction of office buildings. He also provided many insightful suggestions regarding the geographical profile of this project and advised to discuss directly with him the obstacles, that create hindrances in successful implementation of developmental projects.

It is estimated that the project will be completed by November 2027. The review meeting was attended by Water Resources EIC Shri Chandrashekhar Padhi, Balangir Collector Shri Gaurav Shivaji Ishalwar, OLIC MD Shri Alok Kar, and officers from the Water Resources Department.
