Odisha’s Animesh Kujur stealing the show winning the gold medal in the men’s 100m final

Bhubaneswar:8/2/25: The athletics events at the National Games 2025 got off to a thrilling start, with Odisha’s Animesh Kujur stealing the show. Kujur clocked an impressive 10.28 seconds to win the gold medal in the men’s 100m final, equalling the Games record set by Amlan Borgohain in 2022.

Maharashtra’s Pranav Gurav put up a strong challenge, securing the silver medal with a time of 10.32 seconds. Borgohain, the previous record holder, had to settle for bronze, finishing in 10.43 seconds.

In another record-breaking performance, Sawan Barwal of Himachal Pradesh dominated the men’s 10,000m final, finishing in 28:49.93. This shattered the previous Games record of 28:54.29, set by Gulveer Singh in 2022.
