Secretary-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary to Government :Emphasis on quality service delivery in governance process

Bhubaneswar:1/2/25:A secretary-level meeting was held yesterday, Friday, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Shri Manoj Ahuja, in the conference room of Lok Seva Bhawan. Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Anu  Garg and additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, commissioners, and secretaries from various departments participated in the discussion.

The meeting reviewed the action taken as per the decisions of the Secretary-level meeting held last December. Similarly, the implementation of various proposals made at the 4th Chief Secretary-level National Conference held last December was also discussed. The Chief Secretary informed that the Central Government has praised the State Government for successfully organizing the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar and thanked all the departments and partner institutions that cooperated to organise this noble event. As the need and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has increased in various tasks, the Electronics and IT Department has been advised to prepare for creating a research-based ecosystem in this regard. Discussions were held on the necessary preparations for the upcoming Legislative Assembly session, preparation for Rath Yatra 2025 to be held in the coming March, and presentation of vision document proposals for Developed Odisha-2036 and Developed India-2047.

A centralized system has been developed by TPCOD to inspect and monitor the work of transformers up to the last point in the power supply system. This system was recommended to be implemented in the areas of piped drinking water supply and elevated irrigation points by the Madhya Pradesh Drinking Water Department, Housing and Urban Development Department, and the water supply department in the meeting.

All the departments have been advised to review and ensure that the services notified under the Right to Public Services Act are made available to the public in online mode within the stipulated time. The departments have been directed to submit a complete report on the status of service delivery under the Right to Public Services Act in various departments by February 15th.

A demonstration was given by the Modernizing Government Initiatives (CMGI) on the use of a portal called “Meeting Decision Monitoring System (MDMS)” for monitoring and monitoring the implementation of the decisions taken at the secretary level meetings so that the secretaries can use it to take action related to their departments easily. Along with this, the meeting advised the Cooperation Department to review the existing system and provide necessary suggestions for the necessary reforms for the marketing of agricultural produce.
