Former IAS officer Madhusudan Padhi assumed charge as the Odisha State Election Commissioner

Bhubaneswar:31/1/25: Former IAS officer Madhusudan Padhi on Friday assumed charge as the State Election Commissioner (SEC) of Odisha.

Padhi arrived at the office of State Election Commission in Toshali Bhavan in Bhubaneswar in the morning. He took charge from outgoing SEC Aditya Prasad Padhi. The officials in the Commission’s office welcomed Padhi with bouquets. Padhi advised them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and honesty keeping the position held by the Commission in mind.“We should work transparently and impartially to win the confidence of the voters of Odisha,” he said.

A 1991 IAS officer, Padhi served as principal secretary to former Governor Ganeshi Lal. He also held the post of Principal Secretary in, the Rural Development Department, Secretary in Information & Public Relations Department, Information Technology, Food Supply & Consumer Welfare Department, and Higher Education Department. He was also the Chairman of Odisha Civil Supplies Corporation and Special Administrator, Kandhamal.
