Heartfelt Homage to Gandhiji on Martyrs’ Day

Bhubaneswar:30/1/25:The death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the ardent apostle of truth and nonviolence is observed every year as Martyrs’ Day. Today on this occasion the state-level event was held on the premises of Odisha Legislative Assembly. Eminent dignitaries including Hon’ble Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, CM Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Dy CM Shri KV Singhdeo, Smt Pravati Parida, Speaker Smt Surama Padhy, Minister, Parliamentary Affairs Shri Mukesh Mahaling, Minister, FE&CC Shri Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Dy Speaker Shri Bhabani Shankar Bhoi, Chief Whip of Ruling Party Shri Saroj Kumar Pradhan, MLAs Shri Souvik Biswal, Shri Purna Chandra Sethy and Shri Laxman Bag offered tribute through garlanding the statue of the Father of the nation.

National anthem was played by police band while artists of Saswati cultural organization performed Gandhij’s favorite bhajan ‘Vaishnab Jana to’. Twice gunshots were given by police to mark the beginning and end of the silent prayer.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, I & PR, OLA Secretary Shri Dasarathi Satapathy and Director I&PR Shri Saroj Kumar Samal paid floral tribute to Gandhiji. Among other eminent guests Director, Technical, I&PR Shri Surendranath Parida and Additional Director Santosh Kumar Das were present. The event was anchored by Dy Director I&PR Smt Sucheta Priyadarshini.
