Bhubaneswar:29/1/25: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will felicitate as many as 60 youth MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) industrialists from Odisha Wednesday at the Utkarsh Odisha – Make In Odisha Business Conclave 2025. Acknowledging their achievements, the Odisha government will felicitate two MSME industrialists each from 30 districts of the state on the second and concluding day of the conclave, with all the recipients being under 40 years of age.
More investment for Odisha
Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary, Industries Department, Govt of Odisha, has informed that as many as 30 MoUs (Memorandum of Understandings) will be signed in the first half on the second and final day of the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave.”We are expecting a total investment of around Rs 3,00,000 crore from these MoUs,” stated Sharma, adding that an action plan will be prepared for the investments by the investors.
“Once the investments get finalised, we will make required arrangements like land acquisition for them very soon,” the Industries Dept Principal Secretary said.
54 MoUs signed on opening day
The opening day of the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave saw 54 MoUs being signed between the Govt of Odisha and various companies/industries. Sharma said that the 54 MoUs will bring investments of around Rs 4,50,000 crore into the state in various sectors.
Preview of the concluding day of the conclave
The second and final day of the Make In Odisha Conclave commenced at around 10.30 am. CM Majhi will be in attendance as the chief guest at the ‘Skilled In Odisha – Plenary’ session. In the ‘Renewable Energy & Equipment’ session, Deputy CM KV Singh Deo will be the chief guest. Many MoUs will be signed during the session.
Pradeep Bal Samanta, Minister of State for Cooperation, Handloom & Textiles, and Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister of Law, Works & Excise, will be present during the ‘Textiles & Apparel’ session. Several MoUs will also be signed in this session.
Dy CM Singh Deo, who is also the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Energy, as well as Gokulananda Mallick, State Minister of Fisheries & ARD (Animal Resources Development) and MSME, and Rabi Narayan Naik, Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water, will be in attendance at the ‘Agri Industry & Food Processing’ session. Deputy CM Pravati Parida, who is also in charge of the Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti, and Tourism departments, will be present at the ‘Tourism Development’ session. The first half will conclude with the roundtable meeting of Women Business Leaders, where CM Majhi will be present.
The second half of the day will begin with the ‘Women Entrepreneurship enabled by SUBHADRA’ session. The session will be attended by CM Majhi, Dy CM Parida, and Nityananda Gond, Minister of School and Mass Education, ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare. An MoU will be signed in this session between Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur, and World Skill Centre.
Later, Mukesh Mahaling, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, and Krushna Chandra Patra, Minister of Food Suppliers, Consumer Welfare, Science & Technology, will be in attendance at the ‘Healthcare, Pharma & Biotechnology’ session.
The next session will be on ‘Circular Economy’, where Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia, State Minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Labour, Employees State Insurance, as well as Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu will be present. The topic of discussion in the session will be ‘challenges of climate change and pollution’.In the ‘Industrial Infrastructure – Ports, Airports, Railways & Roadways’ session, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena will join as the chief guest.
Sampad Swain, Minister of State for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, will be present at the session on ‘Film & Media’. Film actor and Rajya Sabha Member (MLA) Akash Das Nayak will also be in attendance. The heads of various industries associated with the film industry are scheduled to attend the session.
The sectoral sessions will conclude with the ‘Editors’ Roundtable’, where discussions will be held in the context of the rich background of Odisha. Editors of various media houses grace the occasion.
