Bhubaneswar:14/1/25:Rich tributes have been paid to ‘Vyasa Kabi’ Fakir Mohan Senapati on his birth anniversary.
hailing Fakir Mohan’s contribution to Odia language and literature. He was born on January 13, 1843, and is remembered as one of the most revered Indian writers, poets, philosophers, and social reformers.

He played a leading role in establishing the distinct identity of Odia. Fakir Mohan Senapati is regarded as the father of Odia nationalism and modern Odia literature. He revolted against the conspiracy to suppress the Odia language and due to the steps taken by him, the Odia language survived which could have otherwise become history.
