Odisha University of Health Sciences Hosts Professor Emeritus Installation Ceremony

Bhubaneswar, 7th January 2025: The Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS) proudly organized its Professor Emeritus Installation Ceremony on 7th January 2025, at 3:30 PM in the Vice-Chancellor’s Board Room. The event was a grand occasion to honor the exceptional contributions of 13 distinguished professors, who were conferred with the prestigious title of Professor Emeritus for their outstanding service to health sciences and education.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Honorable Dr. Justice D.P. Choudhury, the Chief Guest, and began with an inspiring address by Prof. Dr. ManashRanjanSahoo, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of OUHS. Prof. Dr. Sahoo applauded the honorees for their remarkable careers and their pivotal roles in shaping healthcare and academia. Smt. SantoshiSahoo (OAS), Registrar of OUHS, coordinated the event seamlessly, ensuring its smooth execution with grace and professionalism.

The program was attended by the Deans and Principals of affiliated medical and dental colleges under OUHS.

The esteemed recipients of the Professor Emeritus title include Prof. Dr. MinatiPatra, Prof. Purna Chandra Maharana, Prof. Prafulla Kumar Chinara, Prof. SindhuNandiniTripathy, Prof. Purna Chandra Mohapatra, Prof. Dr. Sidharth Das, Prof. Dr. Prasanna Kumar Das, Prof. Rabi Narayan Mallik, Prof. Dr. Sadhu Charan Panda, Prof. Dr. Sribatsa Kumar Mahapatra, and Prof. Dr. Narayan Mishra, who were felicitated in person and presented with mementos to commemorate their remarkable achievements. Prof. Dr. Krishna CharanPadhy and Prof. Dr.NarsingCharanPadhi joined the event virtually and were equally honored for their extraordinary contributions to health sciences. The honorees expressed their gratitude for the recognition and reiterated their commitment to sharing their knowledge and skills with the medical and dental colleges across the state under OUHS. They emphasized their dedication to advancing education and research in their respective fields to strengthen the university’s academic and research standards.

The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Y. RojaRamani, Controller of Examination, OUHS. She extended her gratitude to the Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor, honorees, and attendees for their presence and contributions to making the event a grand success.

The Professor Emeritus Installation Ceremony reflects OUHS’s commitment to recognizing academic excellence and its vision of leveraging the wisdom and expertise of its distinguished faculty to enhance health sciences education and research.
