Seventh and final session of the Chief Minister’s Grievance Hearing Program for 2024 ConcludedL

Bhubaneswar:30/12/24: The seventh and final session of the Chief Minister’s Grievance Hearing Program for 2024 was held today, marking another milestone in Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s drive to ensure effective grievance redressal for the people of Odisha.

Since assuming office, the Chief Minister has prioritized meeting citizens directly, listening to their concerns, and resolving their issues promptly.

During today’s session at the outset the Chief Minister personally interacted with 40 differently-abled petitioners. Among the cases, Heramb Giri of Boudh brought her seven-year-old son, Pratush, who suffers from a rare and complex eye condition.

The Chief Minister acted swiftly, arranging for Pratush who was first taken to the Capital Hospital and then transferred to SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack, ensuring that the state government would bear all medical expenses. “We will never disappoint people who come to us with hope and expectation,” the Chief Minister stated.

In an official statement, the Chief Minister highlighted the achievements of the grievance hearing program, revealing that approximately 30,000 to 35,000 petitioners have presented their cases since the program’s inception earlier this year. He noted impressive resolution rates from previous sessions, with 88% of cases resolved from the first program in July, and similar rates of 84%, 82%, and 80% in subsequent sessions. The remaining cases are actively being addressed.

The Chief Minister emphasized that grievance hearings are conducted at the district level by District Collectors, allowing more citizens to access justice. He also announced plans to establish grievance cells at the RDC level to expand the initiative further.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo and several Cabinet Ministers, including Mukesh Mahaling (Health and Family Welfare), Krushna Chandra Patra (Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare), Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia (Forest, Environment & Climate Change), and Sampad Chandra Swain (Industries).

Additional Chief Secretary General Administration and Public Grievances Department Surendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management Department Deo Ranjan Singh, and Secretary level senior officers of other departments were present. were also present to ensure immediate action on grievances.
