Govt. starts giving monthly PDS ration to beneficiaries

Bhubaneswar- 21/12/2024-   The beneficiaries under food security will now be provided monthly ration under the public distribution for January 2005. For this, the state government has directed the district collectors of all the districts to make arrangements for the lifting of PDS rice from government godowns. To serve this purpose, lifting has been started since 6th of this month. In the last 14 days, the district collectors of both Nabarangpur and Deogarh districts have completed lifting the rice earmarked for their districts by yesterday. Other districts will complete the lifting of PDS rice by today itself. Dealers in many parts of the state have started the distribution to beneficiaries at government fair price shops and dealer points to the beneficiaries and the process will be completed by 25th of this month.

In the interest of the beneficiaries, monthly ration will be given to them. In a meeting held recently in the presence of the Minister for Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Shri Krushna Chandra Patra and Principal Secretary of the Department Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh along with other senior officials, a decision was taken regarding the release of monthly ration and all the District Collectors and District Chief Civil Supply Officers have been advised to take necessary steps for this. Apart from this, the district collectors have been asked to further speed up the process of e-KYC of the beneficiaries and complete it by next month.
