Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo installed 108 ft monumental national flag at Rama Devi Women’s University

Bhubaneswar18/12/24:: In a proud moment to celebrate patriotism and national pride, a 108 ft monumental national flag, installed by the Flag Foundation of India, was inaugurated today at Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar.

The event was graced by Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo and Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy. Naveen Jindal, the 3rd-time Member of Parliament, Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), and President of the Flag Foundation of India, joined the program virtually. Maj. Gen. Ashim Kohli (Retd.), CEO of the Flag Foundation of India, and Prof. Aprajita Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Rama Devi Women’s University, were also present on the occasion.

The towering national flag, installed by the Flag Foundation of India, stands as a symbol of unity, pride, and respect for the nation. Positioned prominently within the university premises, this magnificent flag is set to become an inspiring landmark for students, faculty, and the larger community of Bhubaneswar.

Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo commended the efforts of Naveen Jindal-led Flag Foundation of India in installing monumental national flags across the country and spreading the spirit of patriotism. He also thanked Jindal for his decade-long legal battle, which secured the right for people to hoist the tricolor throughout the year with dignity.

Jindal, a passionate advocate for the right to display the National Flag, addressed the gathering virtually and highlighted the importance of the Tricolour in inspiring patriotism among citizens.

“The National Flag represents our collective spirit and unity. It is a source of pride for every Indian, and we are honored to be a part of this initiative. The sight of the Tricolor soaring high will inspire generations of students to serve the nation with dedication,” said Jindal.

The Guest of Honour of the programme Speaker Surama Padhy also praised the effort of the Flag Foundation of India and  Naveen Jindal for his contribution to the nation’s development. The event saw enthusiastic participation from university students, faculty, and dignitaries, who witnessed the grand inauguration with pride and reverence. Padhy applauded Jindal for JSP’s social development and patriotic programs.

JSP’s President and Head (Group CSR), Prashant Hota, highlighted the concept of the program and said, “Naveen Jindal has always championed the right of every Indian to proudly and respectfully hoist and display the national flag.”

Under his direction, the Foundation has been installing monumental national flags throughout India. This is the 158th Monumental National Flag installed by the Flag Foundation of India across the country and the eighth in Odisha.
