Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi attended the concluding cultural function Mandei 2024

Nabarangpur:9/12/24: The soil of Nabarangpur is the place of sacrifice of great freedom fighters. Papadahandi firing in the district is a bloody page in the history of freedom struggle in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi said while addressing the famous folk festival ‘Mandei’ on Sunday.

Paying tributes to the great martyr, Majhi said that it is a matter of pride for him to visit this place and attend the great socio-cultural festival.

“I attended the famous folk festival ‘Mandei-2024’ of Nabarangpur district. It is a matter of great pride for me to attend this famous social and cultural festival.

“Nabarangpur land is the place of sacrifice of great freedom fighters. The Papadahandi firing, indeed, marks a tragic chapter in the state’s history. During the August Revolution, many revolutionaries were martyred in this land. I pay my respectful tribute to them,” he said.

Highlighting the significance of the festival, the CM said that the Mandei is a folk festival of social friendship, exchange of feelings, and human culture in Nabarangpur district. The fete is a means of bringing the art, culture, and traditions of this region to the public, he said, adding that his government will give priority to enriching it further.

“Our government is giving importance to the development of the heritage, folk culture, natural beauty, folk art, handicrafts and tourism sector of Nabarangpur district. Extensive steps will be taken to improve and enrich it and employment opportunities will be created for the youths,” he noted.

The government is going to organize the ‘Utkarsha Odisha’ conference. Which will be of great help in enriching the industry of the state. Majhi stated that the government is committed to bringing Nabarangpur to the forefront of development.
