WAVES Awards of Excellence being hosted by ASIFA India in collaboration with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting as part of Create in India Challenge

Newdelhi:29/11/24:ASIFA India, a UNESCO-recognized global NGO promoting animation, is hosting WAVES Awards of Excellence as part of the Create in India Challenge, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, to celebrate exceptional achievements in Animation, Visual Effects, and XR, reinforcing India’s creative leadership on the global stage.

Entries are open till 15th December, 2024 for these prestigious awards and the awards will culminate at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

WAVES Awards of Excellence

The Awards, for students and professionals, include categories such as Best Character Animation, Best Visual Effects, and Best Short Film. Winners will receive mentorship, networking opportunities with industry leaders, and recognition as part of India’s creative revolution, aligning with the Government’s ‘Create in India’ initiative.

International Animation Day festival is being organised across various cities in India to inspire creators to participate in the upcoming WAVES Awards of Excellence. In the coming weeks, it will be celebrated at Pune, Indore, Nashik, Mumbai, Noida, Bengaluru, and several other sub-chapters to encourage participation from students and professionals.

Earlier, ASIFA India organized a successful International Animation Day in Hyderabad during 16-17 November 2024 & participated in Bhopal Design Festival on 21st November to inspire creators to participate in the upcoming WAVES Awards of Excellence.

Founded in 1960 in Annecy, France, and actively building community in India for 24 years, ASIFA is renowned for its contributions to fostering talent and innovation through events like workshops, CG Meetup, and its International Animation Day (IAD) festival, which spans across 15 Indian cities this year.
