Prime Minister Narendra Modi Urges Odisha People To Host ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025’ On A Grand Scale

Bhubaneswar:29 November 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called upon the people of Odisha to host the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025’, scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar on January 8-10 next year, on a grand scale and make the State a global destination for travel and tourism.

Addressing a special felicitation programme, organised by the Odisha BJP, near the Airport Square in Bhubaneswar, the Prime Minister said, “The next Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention will be held in Bhubaneswar from 8th-10th January 2025. People from across the world will arrive in Odisha. You will get the opportunity to welcome people from across the globe. Earlier in the G20 summit, different people arrived in our country and took part in the global event, but now, our own people, who have been staying overseas for many years, will participate in the event here. When the Overseas Indian community returns from here, Odisha’s rich culture and heritage will be publicized across the globe. The state will become a global destination for travel and tourism.”

“I urge all of you to start preparations from now to host the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on a grand scale and the event should be more excellent than the G20 summit. Let’s together enhance the pride of Odisha,” he added.

PM Modi reached Bhubaneswar on a three-day visit to the State during which he will attend the All India DGP/IGP Conference, and meet the party MLAs, MPs and Ministers.

The Prime Minister was accorded a grand welcome upon arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here.  Cultural troupes who came from different parts of the state will perform various traditional cultural programmes and will play musical instruments on both sides of the road to greet the Prime Minister.

PM Modi is scheduled to reach the BJP state office in the evening and hold a meeting with the party MLAs, MPs, ministers and core committee members. Later, he will have dinner and a photo session with party leaders.PM Modi will leave the party office for Raj Bhavan at 8.30 p.m. PM Modi will attend the All-India Conference of Director Generals/Inspector Generals of Police 2024 from November 30 to December 1 at the State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhavan here.

The conference which has been inaugurated by Shah will be attended by the Principal Secretary to PM, National Security Adviser, Ministers of State (Home Affairs), DGP of States/UTs and Chiefs of Central Police Organisations among others.

Massive security arrangements have been made in the State Capital keeping in view the visit of PM Modi, Union Home Minister Shah, NSA Ajit Doval and other VVIPs.
