Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated sanitary napkin vending and disposal machines at Lok Seva Bhawan

Bhubaneswar:16/11/24: In a step towards providing a hygienic working environment for women in its offices, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated sanitary napkin vending and disposal machines at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said the installation of sanitary napkin vending machines in the Lok Seva Bhawan was one of several measures planned by the state government on the health and hygiene of its employees.

“The government is committed to providing necessary facilities to ensure a healthy, safe, and supportive work environment to the women employees,” she said.

The napkin vending machines have been installed at strategic locations in the building for easy accessibility. The women employees can use the machines at the ladies’ toilet complex adjacent to the Central Lift Lobby on the second floor. Besides, the visitors can avail the machine at the Ladies’ Common Room.

Parida also visited the creche in the Lok Seva Bhawan and interacted with the service providers and the children. A proposal for expansion of the creche was under the consideration of the government, she said.

Anu Garg, Development Commissioner, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department Women & Child Development Department, Shubha Sharma, Principal Secretary, and other senior officials were present.
